Greenhalgh Kerr finalists in IRRV Awards

The collection of NNDR has moved up on the agenda since 2011.  This has been due to the twin effects of retention and the increase of avoidance tactics in relation to empty commercial property.

In July 2013 Greenhalgh Kerr and Rotherham MBC got together to address the issues.

Three years later, both teams continue to work together on the project which has now seen over £500,000 in unpaid business rates collected.

This was money collected in some of the most challenging circumstances in the debt recovery arena, where enforcement agents were unable to collect or involving avoidance tactics or both.

It has involved forward thinking by the revenues team at Rotherham as well as business rates expertise and innovative techniques employed by Greenhalgh Kerr to achieve a winning strategy.

Following an intensive assessment process, we are proud to announce that both ourselves and Rotherham have been shortlisted for an award by the IRRV. The winner is to be announced at the national conference on 19 October 2016.
